Vietnam Cultural Day in Hungary attracts nearly 3,000 local people

The Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary in coordination with the Zalaegerszeg City Government and Vietnamese associations in Hungary have organized the Vietnam Cultural Day, which attracted the participation of nearly 3,000 local leaders and people and hundreds of overseas Vietnamese.

The event aims to celebrate the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and five years since Vietnam and Hungary upgraded to the comprehensive partnership.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao emphasized that Vietnam Cultural Day 2023 in Zalaegerszeg city, home to the only President Ho Chi Minh monument in Central Eastern Europe, was held on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of upgrading the Vietnam-Hungary Comprehensive Partnership in order to introduce Hungarian friends in general and people in the city in particular to a dynamic developing country of Vietnam with a rich and long-standing culture and cuisine; and diverse natural landscape famous around the world. Vietnam is also an attractive tourist destination with many business and investment opportunities for Hungarian businesses.

This is an opportunity to show gratitude to the local people who have supported and cared for Uncle Ho's statue, showing their special affection for him and the people of Vietnam during the past 50 years.

Thanking the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary for organizing Vietnam Cultural Day, which has become a great festival for the people in Zalaegerszeg city, City Mayor Balaicz Zoltán congratulated Vietnam on its increasingly innovative, strong development, becoming a an important partner of Hungary; relations between the two countries have expanded and developed comprehensively in many fields.

He also expressed his belief that in the coming time, the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary will grow stronger and stronger; and cooperation between Zalaegerszeg city and Vietnam will be expanded in the fields of culture, education, tourism, economy and people-to-people exchanges.

Within the framework of the Vietnam Cultural Day program, guests and local people enjoyed the unique Vietnamese folk songs and dances performed by the Vietnamese community, calligraphy art, visiting photo exhibitions of craft villages, natural landscapes of the country and people of Vietnam, as well as experience the space of traditional costume performance, exhibition space for export goods and handicrafts of Vietnam.

Many traditional dishes such as "bun cha" and fried spring rolls have been introduced to international friends. At the end of the program, Hungarian people immersed themselves in the traditional stall dance of the Northwest with students and the Vietnamese community in the bustling music.

Vietnam Cultural Day 2023 is the largest-scale event ever organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, leaving many special impressions on the local people in particular, Hungarian friends in general as well as the Vietnamese community in Hungary, contributing to strongly promoting Vietnamese culture and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries./.
