Vietnam promotes cooperation with Russia’s Omsk city

Vietnam's Consul General in Ekaterinburg Dinh Van Dong on August 4 met and worked with Omsk City Mayor Sergey Shelest to discuss measures to strengthen economic, cultural and business cooperation.

At the meeting, Omsk City Mayor Sergey Shelest said that Omsk city is ready to support the initiatives of Vietnamese businesses, including in the fields of confectionery production and business, export of tea, coffee and rice. Enterprises in Omsk can connect with Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, road construction and medicine. The city of Omsk is also interested in cooperation in the fields of science and culture, including the exchange of students and art groups.

“This year is an important year as it marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia (July 27, 2012-July 27, 2022). Currently, Vietnam is one of the important partners of our country," Mr. Sergey Shelest emphasized.

Consul General Dinh Van Dong thanked the authorities and people of Omsk for the warm welcome. Omsk is a beautiful and hospitable city.

According to Mr. Dong, the establishment of a partnership between Omsk and Vietnamese cities can help strengthen cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed special interest in the exchange and training of Vietnamese students at Omsk universities./.
