The Vietnam U23 team is in Group C with Singapore and Thailand. They will play their first match against Singapore U23 at 19:00 on February 19 at Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, owner of Hoa Sen Restaurant in Phnom Penh, said that his group of about 50 people is ready to go out to the stadium to cheer the U23 Vietnam team on February 19. His group will buy tickets one day in advance and gather at Hoa Sen Restaurant before going to the stadium. Mr. Le Manh Hung believes that Vietnam U23 team will win the match, and even win tickets to the Semi-final and Final rounds.

However, regardless of the result, the Vietnam U23 team still needs to receive the love, support and encouragement of the fans to increase their experience and prepare well for the 2023 SEA Games.

Le Van Phuc, Deputy Head of the Khmer-Vietnam Association, shared that his friends, youth union, and doctor’s association will together buy tickets to encourage the Vietnam U23 team.

Pham Viet Hung, an official of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, hopes that the Vietnam U23 team will win, enter the Semi-finals, and then the final round.

He said that officials and staff of the Embassy and agencies next to the Embassy are waiting for tickets to enter the stadium to encourage the match between Vietnam U23 and Singapore U23 on February 19 and the next match against Thailand U23 on February 22.

The tournament has the participation of 10 teams and will be held from February 14 to 26, 2022. Hosts Cambodia have been placed in Group A along with Timor-Leste, the Philippines, and Brunei, while Group B includes Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos, and Group C comprises Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore./.
