A delegation including representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Overseas Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese Student Association in the United Kingdom (UK) led by Ambassador Tran Ngoc An, laid wreaths at the headquarters of Thurrock Council on the afternoon of November 7th (local time) to commemorate the 39 Vietnamese victims of the lorry tragedy in Essex.

The information was released by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in the UK.
Earlier the same day, the Essex police issued an official announcement that all victims are Vietnamese citizens. They were found dead in a container truck in Essex, northeast of London, the UK, on October 23rd.
Representatives of the police of Essex County also extends condolences to victims’ families and confirmed that this is an important step in a combined investigation with Vietnamese police
The Vietnamese Embassy pledged to coordinate with the Vietnamese inter-sectoral delegation working in the UK and relevant agencies of both Vietnam and the UK to repatriate the victims’ remains as soon as possible.
On the same day, the embassy also issued a report expressing deep sadness and extended its sympathy to the victims’ families.
