Vietnamese Embassy presents scholarships to 30 Vietnamese students in Laos

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos presented scholarships of the Government of Vietnam to 30 overseas Vietnamese students in Laos on October 8th.

This is a program to concretize the bilateral cooperation agreement on education and training between the two governments in 2015 and the plan on education and human resources development in 2015 between Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Laos’ Ministry of Education and Sports.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that this is a special concern of the Parties, Governments and people of the both countries for overseas Vietnamese students in Laos.

The Ambassador suggested General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Laos and Associations of Overseas Vietnamese in localities across Laos to continue to pay more attention to the education of overseas Vietnamese students to help them have more conditions to study, contributing to encouraging the overseas Vietnamese community in Laos to preserve the national cultural identity and towards the homeland.

From five scholarships in 2005, the number of scholarships for overseas Vietnamese students has increased to 30 ones each year.

Nguyen Duy Trung, Chairman of the General Association of Overseas Vietnamese in Laos, thanked the attention of the Parties and governments of the two countries for overseas Vietnamese people in Laos and confirmed that these scholarships are really valuable gifts for them./.
