Year-end festival of Vietnamese students at RoK's Sejong University

The event was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to RoK, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in RoK, the Vietnamese Student Association in RoK (VSAK), and more than 200 overseas Vietnamese students who are studying at Sejong University.

The year-end festival is a major annual event of the overseas Vietnamese student community at Sejong University to celebrate Tet away from home. This event is to summarize and evaluate the results of movement activities in 2022, reward outstanding individuals with many achievements in studying and community activities, and also an opportunity to organize a year-end party to welcome the new year 2023 for all overseas Vietnamese students inside and outside the association.

For more than two years, this activity had to be halted because RoK implemented social distance measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

At the Gala Dinner, the participants enjoyed many special art performances and dishes imbued with Vietnamese traditional identity such as Chung cake, Tet cake, braised meat, Vietnamese sausages, chicken salad, and jam.

In addition, the highlight of the program is traditional folk games on Tet of the Northern-Central-Southern regions. The event was an opportunity to exchange and supplement regional culture, helping overseas Vietnamese students to better understand the traditions and customs of traditional Tet celebrations in different parts of the S-shaped country.

At the program, Dr. Vu Duc Luong, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in RoK, also recognized and highly appreciated the achievements of the association over the past year.

Mr. Vu Duc Luong said that the operating model of the Vietnamese Student Association at Sejong University should be replicated and spread among the Vietnamese student community in RoK, thereby contributing to promoting the image, country and people of Vietnam to international friends./.
