The donation was taking place across localities in the province with practical activities.

According to the Quang Ninh Portal (QNP), six months after the launch of a program collecting capital to bring power to Co To island district, a majority of cadres, officers and labourers across the city actively responded to the program. So far, Ha Long city has collected VND700 million from enterprises and sponsors to bring power to Co To island district. The program is expected to last until the end of 2013.

To recognise the contribution of organizations and individuals who participated in the program, on June 29, Quang Ninh province organized a program entitled “Joining hands to lighten Co To sea and island region” which was broadcast live on the province’s television.

Meanwhile, the provincial armed forces donated nearly VND900 million, of which the provincial police assisted the program with over VND670 million and the provincial headquarters of the border guard donated over VND222 million.

Bringing power to Co To Island is significant for raising local residents’ spiritual and material lives, contributing to protecting the nation’s seas and islands sovereignty. The activity is important not only for Co To Island district residents, but also for Quang Ninh province’s socio-economic development./.
