Quang Ninh province’s fisheries output reaches over 43,000 tonnes in six months

According to the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total fisheries output in the first half of the year reached 43,800 tonnes, accounting for 51.5% of the target for the whole year, a year-on-year increase of 2%.
Of which, the raised fisheries output was 14,000 tonnes and the exploited fisheries output was 29,800 tonnes. The fisheries processing turnover was valued at USD4.3 million while the total fisheries processing products was estimated at over 427 tonnes.
Fisheries breeding centres across the province produced and supplied 503 million individuals of diverse types, while total breeding fisheries area reached over 20,000 hectares.
At present, fisheries are preparing for exploiting fish and harvesting raised fish, preparing breeding fish and upgrading fishing grounds. Therefore, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will focus on preventing natural disasters and epidemics, and supporting and encouraging the applying of advanced sciences and technologies in fishing production./.
