Seminar on coal and mineral to be held in Quang Ninh province

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh stressed that the content and theme of the seminar will relate to coal and mineral production and environmental protection. These are issues that Quang Ninh province gives more attention in the process of sustainable development, in order to minimize the environmental impact of coal and mineral exploitation.

Quang Ninh is not only an industrial province but also a tourism one, so harmonizing industry development and environmental protection is the first task for the province in the near future.

He hoped to continue to receive the attention and cooperation of the Embassy of Sweden, especially in the field of coal and mineral exploitation, so that Quang Ninh can develop this industry sustainably and more efficiently.

At a meeting with the leaders of the departments, sectors and representative of the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industry Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin), Mr. Peter Cederholm expressed a desire to learn about the needs, direction and development policies of the coal and mineral exploitation industry in Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general, to create cooperation opportunities between businesses of the two countries.
