Quang Ninh women’s volleyball team competes at Military Open Cup 2013

The tournament is being held at the Sports Complex of Military Zone 4, Vinh city in the central province of Nghe An, with the participation of 14 teams (8 men’s and 6 women’s).

The Military team has 9 members including: The Cong- Battalion 15, Military zone 3, Military zone 4, Military zone 5, Military zone 9, arms corps 4, Sacombank – Border guard in the men’s event; and Air-Air Defence Force service, PostBank Communications in the women’s event. Besides, male Trang An – Ninh Binh province, male Vietinbank, Tien Nong – Thanh Hoa province, Quang Ninh and Youth VTV Binh Dien Long An.

In the men’s event, players will compete in two groups via point–counting module. The best two teams will then cross play to find candidates for the final match.

The women will play in a circle module, selecting the best two teams in the final match.

Members of the Quang Ninh women’s team come from the provincial training and competing centre. In the opening match, they won against their rivals from Vietinbank with 3-1; later on Quang Ninh girls knocked out Youth VTV Binh Dien Long An 3-0; and then lost 0-3 to Air-Air Defence Force service.

The tournament aims to check and evaluate the results in athletic training from centres, delegations, teams in the high records area, as well as create a forum for them to practice their skills and gain experience, in preparation for the upcoming 2013 national volleyball championships.

The event will wrap up on July 15./.
