Quang Ninh province: 10 chess players participate in national youth chess tournament 2013

The National Youth Chess Championship 2013-Dragon Capital Cup is taking place in the city of Da Lat, Lam Dong province from July 13-22.

The championship draws the participation of over 500 chess players aged 7-20 from 29 provinces and cities nationwide in three categories of standard chess, rapid chess and blitz chess, under the Swiss system.

According to the organizing board, the tournament gathers strong players nationwide and has the largest number of players among tournaments so far. This is an opportunity to choose the best players, who will represent for Vietnam to attend youth tournaments in the region, the continent and the world in 2014.

Quang Ninh province has 10 players participating in the tournament, including three female players, from the provincial sport training and competing centre, and international grand master Nguyen Anh Dung is a coach.

Under the plan, the category of standard chess will end on July 19 and then players will compete in rapid chess and blitz chess until July 22.

The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation and the Lam Dong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism./.
