First aid training for officials and volunteers from Van Don district Red Cross Association

The Quang Ninh provincial Red Cross Association on July 15 opened a one-day first aid training course for 30 officials and volunteers from Van Don district Red Cross Association, providing basic knowledge and skills in first aid activities.

After hearing general theories on first aid, students have directly practised modules such as protecting patients, calling 114 emergency service, haemostatic methods; removing foreign bodies in clogged airways; artificial respiration in case of unconsciousness; bandaged victims immobilized fracture electrocution, drowning accident prevention, burns, safe transport victims to health facilities.

They were also briefly introduced on 60 traditional medicine plants, and their uses and dosages to treat common illnesses in the community.

Right after end the course, Van Don district Red Cross Association established three voluntary teams who are on duty 24/7 ready to response to natural disasters and take on emergency missions. The Association also plans to actively promote popularization campaigns for local people on reducing losses caused by the natural disasters./.
