Quang Ninh province strives to increase number of trained labourers

The northern province of Quang Ninh is reinforcing and modernising vocational training schools, contributing to intellectualizing workers and accelerating the shift in labour structure.

According to Quang Ninh Portal, there are currently 50 vocational training foundations across the province which are distributed evenly in districts. Each district has at least one vocational training foundation, satisfying the demand for people’s study.
Each year, 40,000 people enrol in vocational training schools. In 2012 alone, the figure was 47,000, including over 5,000 rural labourers.
Labourers mainly follow training of sectors such as operating devices (41.78%); mining (21.4%); agriculture, fisheries and forestry (7.44%), electricity and repair (5.45%); information and technology (4.77%); tourism and service (3.82%); handicraft (2.39%); and construction (2.16%).
In 2008, the number of trained labourers accounted for 42.5% and the figures increased to 55% in 2012./.
