VND10 billion for northern district to build new style rural areas

A ceremony has recently been launched to raise funds for building new style rural areas in Ba Che district, the northern province of Quang Ninh. Accordingly, some VND10 billion has been collected.

The money has been collected from 140 agencies, enterprises, organizations and individuals. Apart from the money, 500 tons of fertilizer and numerous buffaloes and cows were also donated.

Speaking during the launching ceremony, Do Thi Lan, Secretary of the district Party Committee, called on continued support from sectors, agencies, organizations, enterprises and individuals, so that the district could complete the program by 2015.

She added that the support held great significance in improving the infrastructure and developing agricultural, forestry and fisheries production, raising people’s living standards.

In the near future, the district will hold another 2 ceremonies to collect capital for the program.

Ba Che, a mountainous and remote district with over 80% of population being ethnic minority people and the number of poor and nearly-poor families reaching 30%, is a difficult place to live. Despite great care from the Party, State, the province, enterprises, individuals and sponsors in assisting poor families and building the rural infrastructure, greater assistance is still needed to boost sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development./.
