With allocated vaccines and chemicals, the poultry vaccination campaign has been carried out for each breeder, in an attempt to complete the campaign by mid-March. According to Tang Thi Hue, a veterinary officer of the commune, the veterinary sector has come to each family to vaccinate their poultry and strictly maintain environmental sanitation.
Identifying that poultry vaccination is an urgent task, so far the veterinary station of the city has distributed 99,600 doses of avian flu vaccines and over 500 litres of chemicals across 17 communes and wards to combat the disease, while cleaning up the environment twice a week in markets and concentrated poultry slaughtering houses and breeding grounds.
Stronger control has also been instituted to prevent the illegal import of poultry.
So far avian flu outbreaks have been reported in 15 provinces and cities across the country./.
