Vice State President pays working visit to northern province

On March 24, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan paid a working visit to the northern province of Quang Ninh on the implementation of the province’s socio-economic development tasks and emulation work.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, the province has always been listed in the top 5 provinces and cities for the largest budget collection. In 2013, the province gained GDP per capita of nearly USD3,000, and ranked 4^th in terms of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI).

In addition, the province has maintained and strongly promoted emulation campaigns launched by the central and provincial levels, in combination with implementing the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, which has brought about practical efficiency.

During her working visit, the Vice State President praised the determination, dynamism and creativity of the province in realising socio-economic development resolutions. She said that the province had appropriately chosen 3 strategic breakthroughs, while carrying out diverse and creative ways of creating strong consensus among people, enterprises and the political system in realising political tasks and the socio-economic development task.

She recognised the determination of the province in personnel work and increasing the quality of cadres and Party members.

She also noted that the province should draw experience in mobilising the strength of production among people, expand advanced models, continue to complete the institutional system, and increase the efficiency of emulation work in the near future.

Earlier, she awarded scholarships for 120 extremely disadvantaged pupils who gained excellent academic results; and visited and gave presents to beneficiaries, poor families and unions of Don Bac commune, Ba Che district./.
