Seafood exploitation in Co To hits over 1,250 tonnes

Total seafood volume in Co To district reached 415,000 tonnes in March, a 3.75 percent rise compared to the same month last year, according to the district People’s Committee.

This March figure brought total exploited volume in the first quarter this year to 1,250 tonnes, 27.5 percent of the year’s plan and 100 percent of the same period last year. Of this, aquaculture posted 38,000 tonnes, 27.9 percent of the year’s plan.

Together with focusing on improving the aquaculture environment, Co To is intensifying promotion activities among the fishing population to take stable weather conditions to effectively exploit jelly-fish and squid. In addition, fishermen were asked to repair their ships and fishing nets to improve their catch. The district always asks fishermen to combine the exploitation with protecting sea resources and environment./.
