(CPV) - The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP) has just granted geographical indication rights for Quang Ninh austriella corrugata, a bivalve. Accordingly, austriella corrugata in other localities will not be permitted to use "Quang Ninh".
This is Vietnam’s 38th geographical indication to be protected. Quang Ninh austriella corrugata is a famous delicious speciality of Quang Ninh province. Its shape is round or oval and it is heavier than austriella corrugata in other localities.
It is easy to distinguish between Quang Ninh austriella corrugata and austriella corrugata in other localities because the white area in the shell of Quang Ninh austriella corrugata is smaller than that in other localities.
Quang Ninh austriella corrugata is famous for deliciousness, resulting from the area's terrain, climate, rivers and streams, mangroves and oceanographic conditions./.
