The district considers sustainable poverty reduction and an increase of people’s spiritual and material lives a key task. As a result, over the past year, the district has carried out diverse programs to support poverty reduction, including giving support for production, vocational training, education, healthcare, plant seeds, animals and cultivation techniques.
In addition, impoverished people have been given preferential loans from banks so they can invest in domestic economic development.
As a result of their work, the poverty rate was reduced from 27.37 per cent to 16.55 percent in 2013. Now, the district hopes to improve even further, reducing poverty to 10 per cent.
In 2014, the district plans to focus on encouraging poor families to develop the domestic economy by themselves. They also plan to identify specific causes that lead to the poverty of each family, and then work out suitable solutions. In addition, by transferring advanced sciences and technologies into production, increasing quality of agricultural products and building effective plant and breeding models, the district hopes to combine poverty reduction with socio-economic development programs./.
