The 46,000 square metre park has been under construction since October 2012. The park, located in the Sam Neua town cost LAK34 billion (roughly VND80 billion) to build. Part of this money was through a LAK5.743 billion (VND15 billion) loan from Quang Ninh Province.
The part consists of constructions that reflect the cultural identity, history, and lives of nine groups of people in the Houaphan Province. During the opening ceremony, Nguyen Duc Long said that the Vietnamese and Lao state, political parties, and people were doing their utmost to further strengthen the special solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, considering it an invaluable asset to pass on to the next generations.
Leaders from Quang Ninh Province and from Lao northern provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on friendship cooperation in October 2011. In a show of cooperation, the Quang Ninh Province assisted with part of the capital to build the park in Sam Neua town.
On the occasion of Lao Tet, Mr. Long sent his best regards and wished happiness and success to Lao people./.
