Van Don island district’s five communes to be connected to national grid

On April 12, Mr. Do Thong, Standing Deputy Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, inspect the new project to connect Van Don district’s five island communes of Quan Lan, Minh Chau, Ban Sen, Ngoc vung and Thang Loi to the national energy grid.

During a meeting between Quang Ninh and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) on February 21, the two sides agreed to invest in a project to connect the national grid to the five islands communes. The capital for the project is from the Quang Ninh province and the electricity sector, and it totals approximately VND300 billion.

The project includes 21 electrical substations, 67km of 22kV medium-voltage lines and 34km of 0,4kV low voltage lines.

This project will have important significance in socio-economic development of Van Don district in general and five communes in particular. Moreover, it helps to promote the development of tourism, fishing and seafood processing.

After the inspection, Mr. Do Thong decided to begin the project on April 19 in Quan Lan commune./.
