Quang Ninh organizes traditional Bunpimay Tet for Lao students

To create a joyful atmosphere for Lao students, Quang Ninh Teacher Training College organized an exchange on April 14 to welcome the new year Bunpimay festival for 28 Lao students from Huaphan, Luongprabang and Xaynhabuly provinces studying at the college.
The exchange aimed to create the right atmosphere for Lao students studying in Vietnam to enjoy their new year traditional festival. At the same time, it also aimed to introduce Lao culture, promoted the close relationship of the two nations to all students of the college and to contribute to developing good relationships between the two peoples of Vietnam and Lao.
At the meeting, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, sent New Year greetings to all Lao students studying at the college and encouraged them to overcome the difficulties in materials and spirit to learn well.
On this occasion, the Quang Ninh provincial Youth Union also presented the blue shirt of Vietnamese volunteers to Lao students and hoped they would be a bridge for friendship activities and contribute to building the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Bunpimay is a new year traditional festival of the Lao people, which takes place annually on April 13-15 with various traditional rituals such as bathing Buddha, splashing water, binding threads on participants’ wrists to bring luck, freshness, prosperity, happiness./.
