Action month on food safety launched

On April 16, the Quang Ninh provincial interdisciplinary steering committee on food safety launched an action month for the quality of food safety in 2014.

Entitled “Street food safety”, the action month will last until May 16. During the month, the province aims to increase the role and responsibility of authorities, management agencies, management boards of festivals and industrial zones and customers in maintaining food safety and encouraging 100% of street food shops to commit to ensuring food safety; minimise street food poisoning cases; and increase food safety inspections at food production facilities.
During the launching ceremony, the Ha Long city People’s Committee signed to commit to ensuring food safety for enterprises and food shops in the city. After the ceremony, the provincial interdisciplinary steering committee on food safety held a parade along streets in Ha Long city to increase people’s awareness on ensuring food safety./.
