Quang Ninh grants 20 licenses to projects in four months

Four projects in the province registered an increase in capital of more than VND116 billion.

Totalling the first four months of this year, the province licensed 20 new and existing projects with a total registered capital of more than VND5.94 trillion, a 1.2 fold rise year on year.

Two new foreign investment projects were licensed in April, including Thang Long cement plant, capitalised with USD45.5 million, and Chung Phat Ha Long tourism development project at USD0.71 million. On the whole, the province granted licenses to two new projects with a total capital of USD46.2 million, or 64 percent of the same period last year.

This month, Quang Ninh worked with four investor’s groups to research and study the investment climate and opportunities. In addition, the province signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the provincial People’s Committee and Japan’s Sakai City and organised an investment promotion seminar between Quang Ninh and Japan under the framework of the Cherry Blossom Festival.

The province will continue to boost investment attraction and promotion in the near future with the main focus on promoting investment with strategic investors who are studying investment in transport and tourism infrastructure projects./.
