Northern town contributes over VND5 billion to build concrete roads

In the first half of the year, farmers’ associations at all levels in Quang Yen town of the northern province of Quang Ninh have encouraged its members to contribute VND5.2 billion, 8,000 working days and 2,120 square metres of land to build 15 kilometres of hamlet and village concrete roads.

The contribution aims to respond to the program to build new rural areas and advanced urban areas.
Apart from capital, working days and land for building welfare construction and infrastructure for production in rural areas, the associations have also encouraged their members to be economical in organising weddings, funerals and festivals while increasing participation in poverty reduction programs and educational standardisation.
Regarding rural environmental protection, the town has built and put into use 25 biogas tanks to treat breeding waste, 86 hygienic restrooms, and 1,600 metres of waste water drainage.
Accelerating setup of concentrated goods production, so far Song Khoai commune in the town has built 250 metres of new channels and upgraded 1,840 metres of others while Phong Coc commune has invested VND1.3 billion to build 1,300 metres of channels, serving agricultural production./.
