Illegal drug trafficking ring from China to Vietnam broken

The Quang Ninh police have arrested eight traffickers in an illegal drug trafficking ring from China to Vietnam and seized nearly 1kg of drug.

The ring was led by Ngo Ngoc Phong, born in 1972. He lives in Tran Phu ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

On June 25, Phong was caught in red hand for hiding 231g of ecstasy in his body at the check point in Hai Tien commune, Mong Cai city.

Urgently searching Phong’s house, the police seized additional 610g of ecstasy, a K59 gun and two cartridge belts including 14 bullets, five bars of dynamite, six detonators, a digital scale and VND50 million.

From Phong’s statement, the police have urgently caught other seven traffickers of the ring, including Pham Thi Van, born in 1988 in Hai Dong commune, Mong Cai district; Tran Quang Huy, born in 1987 in Le Chan district, Hai Phong city; Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, born in 1984 and Tuong Duy Huy, born in 1992, both in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province; Le Dai Hoang, born in 1996 in Mong Cai city, Hoang Van Hai, born in 1994 in Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province and Vu Van Sinh, born in 1974 in Dong Trieu district, Quang Ninh province.

Examining the houses of Tran Quang Huy and Vu Van Sinh, the police seized a large amount of ecstasy and cannabis, four detonators, two home-made mines and over 1kg of dynamite, a digital scale, 38 bullets and many disassemble parts of short gun.

The police decided to prosecute the case and traffickers as well as carry out further investigation./.
