(CPV) - The National Youth Archery Tour 2014 has ended at Hai Duong provincial Sports and Physical Training Center, luring 113 athletes from 16 delegations.
The Hanoi sent a 26-member delegation to the event with Can Tho city contributing one member.
The finals medal tally ranked Hanoi 1st place with 28 golds, 15 silvers, and 11 bronzes. The Vinh Long delegation took 2nd position with 5 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze medals, while the hosting Hai Duong delegation were the runners-up with a tally of 3 gold and 4 bronze medals..
This year’s event witnessed 13 new national records, of which Hanoi accounted for 8 including Loc Thi Dao, in the all-woman’s 70m and 30m one-string event; Le Thi Thu Hien, in the women’s 60m and 50m one-string; Nguyen Van Duy, in the all-men’s one-string event; Nguyen Tuan Anh, in the all-men’s three-string event, and Mai Xuan Duc in the men’s 90m three-strings.
Last year, Hanoi also came first with 23 gold, 12 silver, and 5 bronze medals, demonstrating its advantage remains on track.
The 4th and 5th places went to the Quang Ninh and Tra Vinh delegations, respectively.
Athletes from Quang Ninh province pocketed 12 medals in total (1 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze), of which, Hoang Thi Thi, Vu Thi Mai and Nguyen Thi Hoa, won a gold in the women’s team 50m three-strings.
This event, co-organized by the Hai Duong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Shooting Federation, and Shooting, Archery Department under the General Department of Sports, and Physical Training, is a good chance for the organizing board to check the quality of athletes and the professional skills of trainers, as well as to seek the best candidates for up-coming national, regional and international, junior squad competitions./.
