Quang Ninh welcomes over 5.2 million tourists in seven months

Tourist arrivals to the northern province of Quang Ninh reached an estimated 480,000 in July 2014, bringing the figure for the first seven months this year to 5.28 million, 68.6% of the year’s plan, reported the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Of this, more than 1.46 million foreign tourists visited the province, 53.2% of the year’s plan and a year-on-year rise, said the department.

Tourist arrivals staying in the province overnight were 2.21 million, 58.4% of the year’s plan or 95% of the same period last year. This figure included 775.000 foreign tourist arrivals, 51.7% of the year’s plan or up 6% compared to the same period last year.

Total tourism turnover in July was estimated at VND352.2 billion, raising the figure for the first seven months this year to VND3.18 billion, 56% of the year’s plan and a year-on-year increase of 6%./.
