Ha Long city to organise Cherry Blossom Festival 2016 in March

With the theme “Integration, cooperation and development”, the Cherry Blossom Festival 2016 will take place on March 18th - 23rd at October 30th Square.

The festival will include cherry blossom exhibition; 150-200 kiosks introducing tourism, cultural, cuisine and souvenir products; display of art photos to introduce traditional cultural features, place-names, heritages, tourism, culture and cuisines of Quang Ninh province and Japan; cultural exchange program and folklore games of Vietnam and Japan.

Besides, a conference on trade and tourism development investment and promotion cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, as well as signing memorandum of understandings between businesses will be organized.

This is the fourth Cherry Blossom Festival organized in Ha Long city. The event aims to exchange culture and tourism between Vietnam and Japan in general and introduce the potentials and tourism of Ha Long - Quang Ninh in particular to Japanese people, as well as boost tourism development and cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy agreed with Ha Long city about the plan for the organization, time and location of the festival. She also suggested the festival should focus on cultural, tourism and trade exchange between the two countries and have specific plans to ensure security, order, fire prevention and food hygiene.

The opening ceremony will be performed by over 100 Vietnamese and Japanese artists./.
