Hanoi mobilizes nearly VND678 billion to support COVID-19 affected people

According to statistics of the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, by August 24, Hanoi city decided to earmark nearly VND678 billion to support those facing difficulties, including nearly VND540 billion from the State budget and nearly VND138 billion mobilized from society.

Specifically, the Hanoi City Social Insurance has reduced by VND101 billion the required contributions to the occupational accident and disease fund for 88,257 units with more than 1,477,000 employees. The agency has also temporarily stopped paying into the retirement and survivorship fund for 43 units with 3,479 employees, with the amount of suspended money of VND24.4 billion.

At the district level, the city has supported more than VND18 billion for 4,260 employees who have suspended their labor contracts, VND123 million for 92 workers who stopped working, VND8 billion for more than 900 business households, and VND87 billion for more than 58,000 freelance workers.

In addition, localities also assisted 279,626 revolutionary contributors, social protection beneficiaries and poor and near-poor households with an amount of nearly VND280 billion./.
