Over the past 16 years of accompanying pediatric patients and their families, as of early May 2022, the number of children receiving cardiovascular intervention through the program reached 9,000.

The figures were provided during a ceremony to mark the milestone of saving the lives of 9,000 children with congenital heart disease in difficult circumstances across Vietnam, which was held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 11.

The Heartbeat Vietnam Program has received the active companionship of ambassadors, medical staff, local partners, and benefactors across the country in mobilizing resources to save the lives of unfortunate children with congenital heart disease. The program has sponsored 773 follow-up support packages, 669 family support packages and 232 scholarships for children to continue going to school. It has also conducted about 100 congenital heart check-ups per year and screened more than 250,000 children in remote areas. As a result, more than 10,000 children with congenital heart disease have been detected.

Mr. Don Lam, General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VinaCapital Foundation, affirmed that VinaCapital Foundation has made practical contributions to the development of the health system as well as improving community life when it joined hands to change the lives of 9,000 unfortunate children with congenital heart disease across Vietnam. “We are determined to continue our journey to support children and families to access quality medical care for a better life in the near future,” he confirmed./.
