Country sees some 21 billion USD trade surplus in nine months

Vietnam’s total import and export value reached 65.81 billion USD in September 2024, down 8% from the previous month, the General Department of Customs reported.

Specifically, exports were valued at 34.05 billion USD, down 9.9%, and import turnover reached 31.76 billion USD, down 5.9%. However, Vietnam still had a trade surplus of 2.29 billion USD in September.
In the first nine months of 2024, the country’s total import-export value reached 578.47 billion USD, up 16.3% over the same period in 2023. Of which, exports reached 299.63 billion USD, up 15.4%, and imports were worth 278.84 billion USD, up 17.3%. The accumulated trade balance in the nine months hit a surplus of 20.79 billion USD.
