The 90-page book including three sections, clearly outlines the basis views on Vietnamese history, country and people.In the first part, Mr. Toma tells about his experience during a real trip to Vietnam. Admiration, surprise at the Vietnamese beauty of nature and people, especially President Ho Chi Minh, and the rapid development of a country which has gone through war was reflected.
The following part provides an insight into Vietnam’s geographical location, political institutions, culture, history, religion, art, festivals, cuisine and tourist attractions. Notably, the author stressed that Vietnam has improved its position in the international arena and has contributed to regional and international forums like ASEAN and the UN.
In the second part, the author wrote about Vietnam from the points of view of a researcher. He supplies to readers basic views on geography location, political institutions, culture, history, religion, art, festivals, cuisine and tourism attractions.
Especially, the author praises the prestigious and high position Vietnam on the international arena. Vietnam is an active member, having contributed in regional and international forums such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC); and the World Trade Organisation (WTO); and Vietnam has made notable economic achievements during 30 years of renovation.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Toma gave legal and historical proof affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
“Vietnam: Peace, Integration and Development”, the first book in Romanian language giving a comprehensive view of Vietnam, helps Romanian readers as well as international friends better understand the country, people and achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
