Russia’s Sputnik news agency has named Vietnam’s Thong Nhat (Reunification) Express, also called the North-South railway route, among the most beautiful of its kind in the world.

According to Sputnik, the North-South railway route offers chances for tourists to explore Vietnam through romantic scenes, especially the pristine central coastal region. Tourists can also enjoy bedside comfort on carriages fitted with air conditioning.
In 2018, Lonely Planet, one of the world’s largest travel guide book publishers, named Vietnam’s railway route with a distance of 1,072 miles (1,726 kilometers) the Top of the most amazing train journeys.
It highlighted that some railways rattle through historic cities and others swoosh beside spectacular coastlines.
The North-South railway is the inter-provincial train route under the management of Vietnam Railways Corporation, connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city.
Moreover, it passes by most localities that lie between the two ends of the country, including Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai and Binh Duong./.
