Japanese Associate Professor calls for enhanced relations with Vietnamese government

Associate Professor Kawashima assessed that Vietnam is successful in electing leadership positions to run the country in the next 5 years. In the recent vote, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the former Prime Minister, was elected to be the State President, and Mr. Pham Minh Chinh was elected as the Prime Minister.
In terms of the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the coming time, the Associate Professor said that Japan needs to consolidate and further strengthen relations with Vietnam.
"Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the new State President, not only participated in the coronation ceremony of the new Japanese Emperor, but also visited Japan many times during his term as Prime Minister. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, the new Prime Minister, used to be the Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Parliamentary Group," the newspaper wrote.
Mr. Kawashima also evaluated Vietnam as an attractive destination for Japanese businesses. Vietnam has high political stability, successfully controlling the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is one of the few countries with positive growth in 2020. With a population of nearly 100 million people and located adjacent to Guangdong province of China, Vietnam will be the number one candidate when Japanese enterprises move production out of China, he wrote./.
