Consistency in action

Professor Thomas Engelbert of Hamburg University and economic expert Daniel Müller of the German Business Association in Asia-Pacific shared a common view that the factor that makes the success of the Communist Party of Vietnam is consistency in action. The biggest success is in the economic sector. From a backward agricultural country, Vietnam has become a developed market with a focus on production and trade, strong reduction in poverty rate, and remarkable increase in the income per capita. These achievements are brought about by Vietnam’s deep participation in the world market through a free trade policy and welcoming of foreign investors.

In the international arena, Vietnam has made remarkable progress. Vietnam's position in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as in the world, has been increasingly enhanced. Vietnam has become a potential partner of a number of Asian and western countries in many fields, including the US and the European Union (EU). According to the two experts, Germany wishes to make the "strategic partnership" with Vietnam increasingly real.

German experts emphasized that Vietnam's success in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has received the world's attention and praise. In the world, many preventive strategies have achieved results. It is important that the measures taken are consistently and actively supported by the people, and that Vietnam can be proud of it. The pandemic prevention achievements have contributed to improving the image of the country, the prestige of the leaders and bringing economic efficiency.

No interruption of economic activities

Forecasting Vietnam’s upcoming domestic and foreign relation direction, Professor Engelbert and economic expert Müller said that, thanks to the success of the anti-epidemic work, in the coming time, Vietnam will continue to benefit from no economic activities interruption. This helps Vietnam gain economic momentum after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts say that Vietnam needs to further improve its conditions to become a "high-tech destination". Vietnamese companies need to be facilitated to take advantage of trade agreements such as the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). Infrastructure, energy supply and education must keep pace with economic development./.
