Northern province’s district gives presents to AO victims

The Dong Trieu district Association of Victims of Agent Orange in the northern province of Quang Ninh has visited and given 50 presents worth VND500,000 each to AO victims in the district.

The activity was part of the 52nd anniversary of AO calamity in Vietnam (August 10).

Visiting the victims, Dong Trieu district leaders showed their sympathy with their families, encouraging the victims and their relatives to overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives to better care for the victims.

The leaders suggested that communes and towns in the district work with relevant agencies to accelerate the application of AO victims’ policies.

There are currently over 800 AO victims in the district.

Since the beginning of the year, the district has mobilised money from diverse resources to help the victims, with nearly VND200 million. Many disadvantaged AO victims’ families have been supported for building houses, or given wheelchairs and rehabilitation./.
