The northern province of Quang Ninh has given nearly 5,000 life jackets and lifebuoys to poor fishermen in the 7 localities of Dong Trieu, Van Don, Co To, Hai Ha, Dam Ha, Quang Yen and Uong Bi.

The life jacket and lifebuoy program aims to realise the campaign “Traffic culture and waterway safety” and another campaign on granting lifebuoys to poor people.
Accordingly, the provincial Traffic Safety Committee has worked with the provincial Fatherland Front and the provincial Police to encourage individuals, organizations and sponsors in the province to support life jackets and lifebuoys to be given to poor fishermen.
The life jackets and lifebuoys are given to ensure fishermen’s safety when they go fishing at sea. They also aims to increase people’s awareness in obeying traffic laws, thus ensuring waterways safety./.
