VOV quoted the saying of Nguyen Van Huong, head of Weather Forecasting Department under the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting that this is the strongest cold spell from the beginning of this year's cold season until now, marking the first cold spell of the 2023-2024 Winter.

The cold air wave will hit the entire northern region in the evening and tonight,  and then spread to the north-central region and some places in the south-central region.

According to Nguyen Van Huong, due to the influence of the cold air wave, from the night of November 12 to November 14-15, the weather pattern in the northern region and mountainous areas will be cold, with common temperatures at night and morning are around 16-19 degrees Celsius, and even below 15 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas.

From the night of November 12 to November 16 and 17, there will be widespread heavy rain of up to 500mm in some areas, while the north-central region is likely to suffer flooding./.
