Hanoi temporarily suspends all cultural events to commemorate fire victims

The administration of Hanoi capital has decided to temporarily suspend all cultural events, sport games and entertainment activities from September 14 to 17 following the deadly mini apartment building fire on September 12 that killed 56 people.

According to VOV, all State agencies located in the city will observe a moment of silence at 8 o’clock on September 18 in commemoration of dead victims.
The midnight fire that broke out at around 23:00 on September 12 at a mini apartment building in Thanh Xuan District killed a total of 56 people and injured 37 others.
The police detained 44-year-old Nghiem Quang Minh, the owner of the building, for questioning over violations of fire prevention rules.
The municipal administration and local agencies provided material assistance to families of the bereaved and the injured.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent condolences to the bereaved families and asked Hanoi to draw lessons from the disaster.
Currently 36 injured people are receiving treatment and extensive care at five hospitals. Among them, six are in critical condition./.
