HCMC needs around 75,000 employees in last quarter of 2023

Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Huynh Le Nhu Trang said that HCMC has a rising demand for around 75.500 - 81.500 workers for the last three months of 2023.

Seasonal jobs cover the sectors of trade and services accounting for 77.13 percent, industry and construction taking 29.69 percent, and agriculture, forestry and fishing with a percentage of 0.18 percent.

Also according to Ms. Huynh Le Nhu Trang, in the first 10 months of 2023, the number of people requesting unemployment benefits is more than 142,700 people, an increase of nearly 11% compared to the same period in 2022. However, the number of workers quitting their jobs to receive unemployment benefits in October decreases compared to the early 2nd quarter of 2023.

In the last months of 2023, the HCMC Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will organize ten job transaction sessions to connect employers and job seekers.

The department will closely coordinate with relevant units and organizations to monitor the employment situation and labor relations between employees and employers to solve problems to manage conflicts and minimize disruptions caused by strikes or labor disputes./.
