On March 30, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Phu Quoc Martyrs’ Cemetery, offered incense at Phu Quoc Martyrs' Memorial Temple and inspected the construction site of President Ho Chi Minh's monument during a working visit to Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province.

The delegation also included Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Do Thanh Binh, and leaders of ministries, branches and localities.
Phu Quoc Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place of 3,291 fallen soldiers who were from provinces and cities across the country, including 356 fallen soldiers who were people of Phu Quoc city.
Remembering and expressing infinite gratitude for the contributions of heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives while fighting to gain independence and freedom for the Fatherland, including firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the country, the Prime Minister and the working group vowed to strive to build a Vietnam with rich people, a strong country, democratic, fair and civilized, successfully building socialism and firmly defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Inspecting the construction site of President Ho Chi Minh’s Monument at Phu Quoc City Center Square, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked officials and workers to focus on construction project, ensuring progress and improving quality, meeting technical, aesthetic, and green, clean and beautiful requirements, not only with responsibility but also with all the heart and special affection for beloved Uncle Ho.
He also asked to complete the project on the occasion of celebrating the 49th anniversary of Southern liberation and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024) and the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024)./.
