First Vietnam brocade culture festival in Central Highlands province of Dak Nong

The first Vietnam brocade culture festival will take place from January 5th to 7th next year to contribute to popularizing and improving the brocade values of the community of ethnic groups in localities.

It is part of activities in the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the province (January 1st, 2004). 

Vice chairwoman of Dak Nong provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said that there are more than 40 ethnic minority groups in the province, creating the specific cultural features of the south Central Highlands.

The place has rich, diversified and specific traditional culture, in which brocade is a means of expression.

Over the past years, the province has made efforts to preserve and develop brocade culture by organizing training courses on weaving and exhibitions on brocade.

The traditional festivals will introduce associations with brocade space and performance of traditional foods of ethnic minority groups in the Central Highlands. In addition, a seminar on Vietnam brocade culture, a show on brocade application and a street festival will be organized.

Miss Vietnam 2010 Ngoc Han - Ambassador of this year’s festival said that she is very honored and proud to participate as ambassador of the program. In the framework of the festival, Ngoc Han will participate in a performance of a brocade fashion collection that she designed.

On this occasion, on January 5th, Dak Nong provincial People’s Committee will organize an investment promotion workshop with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates, to sign cooperation agreements with big corporations with a total investment capital of over VND92 billion./.
