Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Exhibition House to be built in Nha Trang

Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee on August 2nd presided over a meeting on the architecture of a house to display objects related to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

Accordingly, the house will be built at the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography, Vinh Nguyen precinct, Nha Trang city.

The project was approved by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and funded by an investment of VND50 billion from the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography.

The house will have a total area of 2,000sq.m, and exhibit around 20,000 documents and objects affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over its sea and islands, especially the two archipelagos.

Also at the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography, an area to protect and preserve marine creatures collected from Truong Sa archipelago and other Vietnamese waters will be built in an existing tunnel, which is 80m long, 4.5m wide and 4.5m high. The area aims to raise public awareness about the value of marine creature resources and support research on and preservation of important marine creatures.

The project will be carried out over two years./.
