Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has stressed that Vietnamese people in general and Hanoians in particular are pleased with the effective development of the Vietnam - France relationship.

He made the statement during his reception for Stephanie Do, head of the France - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group at the French National Assembly, on July 15th.
Appreciating Hanoi’s recent strong development, Ms Stephanie Do expressed her pleasure with the close cooperation between Hanoi and France in diverse areas such as urban traffic, environment and infrastructure. “As the result, many projects by French investors are being carried out in Hanoi, including the urban railway No. 3 and the international agricultural product wholesale market,” she said.
According to Mr. Chung, Vietnamese people in general and Hanoians in particular are pleased with the recent effective development of the Vietnam -France relationship, especially Hanoi’s expansion of cooperation with French localities, striving to be a model of cooperation among the two countries’ localities.
Regarding urban railway No.3, he said that city leaders regularly talked with representatives from the French Embassy in Vietnam, in an attempt to make the project’s first phase operational from 2020.
“In the near future, Hanoi hopes to cooperate with French localities in the building of infrastructure serving cultural and social activities; sharing experience in the development of start-ups, and environmental and waste pollution treatment,” he added, asserting that Ms Stephanie Do’s trip would contribute to developing the bilateral relationship./.
