Standing Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung has confirmed that Singapore is now Da Nang’s leading investment partner, with diverse cooperation deals having been signed between the two sides.

He made the statement during a reception for Kow Juan Tiang, Deputy Executive Director, Infrastructure Asia (IA), Singapore, the organization in charge of supporting infrastructure projects in Asia.
According to Mr. Dung, Da Nang city and Singaporean partners have worked together in studying the adjustment of the general planning of the city until 2030, with a vision until 2050; and studying the implementation of some short- and medium-term investment projects.
Kow Juan Tiang said IA had coordinated with diverse agencies, including the city Department of Transport and the Department of Planning and Investment, on technological international capital solutions that suit the city’s situation.
With experience in developing urban infrastructure in many countries, Mr. Juan Tiang expressed his hope that the city and IA would increase coordination for early implementation of Lien Chieu port, the project on removing railway station and urban renewal, and the project on Da Nang - Hoi An subway.
During the reception, Mr. Dung suggested relevant agencies enhance coordination with IA in the city’s infrastructure projects, especially speeding up investment progress in traffic infrastructure projects./.
