Ho Chi Minh city and Finland promote cooperation

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong on May 21st received Mr. Kari Kahiluoto, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam, on a working visit to the city.

During the reception, Chairman Phong appreciated the diverse activities jointly held by the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh city, including the Ho Chi Minh city Innovation Startup and Entrepreneurship Week 2017, thus promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Finland and Vietnam, including the city.

He expressed his hope that there would be more cooperative activities between Ho Chi Minh city and Finland, especially in Finland’s strong areas such as the building of smart urban areas, waste treatment and education, confirming that the city welcomed Finnish businesses and investors.

Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto pledged to introduce to Vietnam Finnish delegations who would come to the city to study cooperation opportunities in treating urban solid waste, building urban city and boosting startup and innovation.

He added he would continue to work with the city departments and agencies to carry out educational cooperative programs, including the Vietnam -Finland international high school project, the training cooperation between Ho Chi Minh city’s and Finland’s universities, and building vocational training schools./.
