Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs laid flowers to commemorate 39 victims in UK

Under the direction of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam To Anh Dung on November 4th worked with the representative of the UK’s Home Office, the Essex County police and signed a funeral record and laid flowers to commemorate 39 victims in Essex County, northeast London, the United Kingdom (UK).

At the working sessions, Mr. Dung expressed his thanks for the UK’s close cooperation and requested the authorities of the two sides to work closely and urgently to identify the victims as soon as possible.

He also asked the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK to continue working closely with local authorities, proactively preparing plans to take measures to protect citizens in case of necessity.

The case of 39 people found dead in a container truck in Essex, the UK, on October 23rd cause great shock in British public opinion, as well as the rest of the world. British police on November 1st reported that the victims of this tragedy were Vietnamese citizens. The identity of the victims has not been announced./.
