The tournament, opened on October 6th, was organized by the football association of Vietnamese people in Japan (FAVIJA) under the sponsorship of the Vietnamese embassy in the country.

The final round of the tournament took place on October 13th, right after Typhoon Hagibis devastated Japan.

This is also an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese in Japan to encourage and support each other to overcome the natural disaster.

The sport event, held in Osaka city in Japan’s central region, attracted the participation of 34 football teams, divided into eight groups.

After a week of competition, FC Kazoku won the championship, followed by FC NTO, Huu FC and Thanh Hoa Osaka FC.

The total award of the tournament is over 100 million VND and a ball with the signatures of heads of states of Vietnam and Japan and Vietnamese soccer stars.

Mr. Do Quang Ba, Head of FAVIJA, said that the top four football teams will compete at a football tournament for overseas Vietnamese across Japan, which will take place in late November.

He hoped that the football tournaments will help the overseas Vietnamese community in Japan to be more united and support each other to overcome difficulties./.
