The 2-mohths class aimed to enhance Vietnamese language study for overseas Vietnamese children in Mongolia and create conditions for Mongolian students preparing to study in Vietnam to learn about Vietnamese language and culture.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Thi Huong stressed that Vietnam and Mongolia have established diplomatic relations for over 60 years, but this is the first Vietnamese class launched in Mongolia thanks to great effort of the Vietnamese Embassy.

She added that the class not only brings Vietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese children in Mongolia, but also helps them understand more about the culture of the nation, and develop attachment to their origin, the homeland of Vietnam. Moreover, she also hoped Mongolian students preparing to study in Vietnam can gain basic knowledge about Vietnamese language and culture so that they would be more confident and better prepared when studying in Vietnam.

The Ambassador said that the class, located at school named after President Ho Chi Minh, also reminds the students about their responsibility in studying and fostering the Vietnam-Mongolia traditional relations.

Besides learning Vietnamese language, the teachers also introduce the culture, land and people of Vietnam; organizing extracurricular activities, folk games, and preparing and enjoying traditional dishes of Vietnam.

The Mongolian students are very happy to participate in the class and they deeply thanked the Vietnamese Embassy, because it is a helpful course for them to study in Vietnam./.
